The Wedding of Ian and Joseph: The Epitome of Masculine Romance
How does one of the world’s most highly regarded wedding and event floral designers create a swoon-worthy ceremony and reception for himself and his partner?
It was no easy feat for Botanica’s owner and lead designer, Ian Prosser . Not only was he marrying the love of his life, Joseph Duncan , but expectations from the industry as a whole had him mindfully planning a spectacular soiree.
And that…he did.
His concept of masculine romance paired architectural elements with modern, romantic blooms (designed by him and daughter, Zoe Gallina, Botanica’s Creative Director and executed on the day by his team), stunned both his groom and guests. June 11, 2021 would certainly host a wedding to remember.

The traditional ceremony at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church was a regal affair with classic white blooms intermixed with lush greens and statuesque trees. One special touch was the dripping white stephanotis vines that graced the aisle - they actually came from a past client’s yard and were picked that day!
Ian dressed in Scottish attire (a nod to his heritage) and the bridal party donned deep purples and magenta pinks. Ian’s granddaughter and flower girl, Juliette, wore a delicate halo of amethyst, merlot, magenta, and white floral.
Adding to the decor were unique touches such as trumpeters, a choir, and a vintage Bentley.

After Ian and Joseph’s declared commitment, guests arrived at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club to celebrate. Due to the nature of the business, Ian chose to create thoughtful designs that made an impact.
The results were astounding.
Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by a grand piano overflowing with orchids, roses, and greens. They then proceeded to the cocktail reception where a custom designed bar was accented by a real floral piece of art (based off the reception napkin and table linens!) as well as tall arrangements on either side.
Stepping inside into the reception, a fantasy of tropical foliage, fruits and vegetables, and rich blooms gave goosebumps. A mixture of rectangular and square tables boasted everything from orchids to artichokes, lit by flickering candles and specialty lighting while furniture groupings allowed for relaxed socialization after dancing.
Dinner consisted of a menu inspired by their engagement location, Charleston, SC and guests loved the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and biscuits and cornbread!
The memorable night continued with wedding cake, warm chocolate chip cookies, and even a gelato bar. Confetti canons and a bagpiper concluded the evening as the couple left for their new life together.
These events were truly a work of art thought up by both Ian, Zoe and their staff. The weave of deep, rich colors alongside architectural floral and design made way for exquisite masculine romance. And to that, we cheers to Ian and Joseph’s new life together - may it be as magnificent as your wedding.
Ian and Joseph’s wedding is a real wedding feature on Grace Ormonde Wedding Style.
