An event fit for a king?

When Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla’s newly appointed king, Christopher , and his wife Miriam , conversed with Ian and Zoe about the King’s Dinner they were planning at the Tampa Bay Yacht and Country Club in November 2019 the excitement could only rival the revered festival itself.

The elegant evening was set to reflect Christopher’s New Orleans heritage and everything from invitations to food to decor would grace the event’s concept. Paired with Miriam’s love of bold, vibrant colors it was a display of glamour and grandeur at its finest.

The atmosphere created a soiree that truly encouraged: Laissez les bon temps rouler (French for let the good times roll)!

Guests were welcomed with bright orange and pink ranunculus, orchids, viburnum, delphinium, tulips and roses accented by lush greens in arrangements and garlands. Complementing the look was the garden champagne wall that gave an immediate wow.

Outside overlooking the water, the cocktail reception enveloped the New Orleans theme with French bistro sets and a courtyard fountain lit up with bistro lights.

After cocktails, guests were invited to the dinner tent by a surprise fireworks show, signaling the start of dinner.

As the evening progressed, dinner and speeches took place under a stylish tent with Louie chairs, a variety of rich linens with damask patters, and opulent, gold accented china that was mismatched to give a true King-like feel.

Amongst it all were meticulously designed floral arrangements adorning the tables, ceiling, and stage.

After that, the night was still young. What King’s Dinner would be complete without a surprise jazz club complete with lounge groupings and wing backed chairs, a hazing atmosphere, and an actual New Orleans band?

Not this one!
